“One of my first observations as Earlham’s new
Anne Houtman, during her inauguration at homecoming.
president, way back in 2019, was that every
student I met shared a commonality with
every graduate I met, even those celebrating
their 50th or 60th reunions. And that
common characteristic is that, no matter their
major or their career, they feel a responsibility
to make the world a better place.”
Thanks to COVID, homecoming 2022 was the first in-person homecoming celebration in three years, bringing back the classes of 1972, 1971 and 1970 to celebrate their 50th anniversaries. In all, more than 900 alumni returned to campus. Besides alumni events, homecoming also included the inauguration of President Anne Houtman, a concert by Fitz and the Tantrums, and Epic Expo, an all-campus showcase of student research, internships and off-campus study.
